Margaret Cekuta brings more than a decade of expertise in international trade policy, spanning senior roles in the Executive Office of the President, leading trade associations, and top-tier government relations firms.

Most recently, Margaret served as Senior Director for Policy at the Business Roundtable, advising Fortune 100 companies on U.S. trade policy, tariff developments, bilateral negotiations, and USMCA. Before that, she covered trade and innovation policy at the National Foreign Trade Council and advised a broad range of U.S. and international clients on trade strategy at Capitol Counsel, a leading bipartisan government relations firm.

Prior to the private sector, Margaret served in the Executive Office of the President — first at the Council of Economic Advisers, where she led interagency coordination on trade and international economic policy, and at the Office of the United States Trade Representative, where she was a core member of the team that conducted the Section 301 investigation into China's intellectual property practices — the groundwork for the defining trade action of the last decade. All positions carried Top Secret/SCI security clearances.

Margaret holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Georgetown University.
